STEP 2: Make sure you heat set the bleached area first. Ensure that you have really good ventillation in that area as it can become smelly. Then load up the shirt onto your Brother GT-541. This will allow you to see where the image is going to print. Remember to make sure that the artwork you want to print will work with the shirt color, bleaching area, etc. Some artwork will work better than others. This method gives you more of a grundy look, so keep that in mind when designing your artwork.
STEP 1: First you will need a spray/spritzer bottle and some common household bleach. Yes, bleach that you would normally use to get shirts white... and when you accidentally spill it on a dark shirt it bleaches it out... that's right. That's exactly what we're going to do. Fill your spray bott with a little bleach and carefully and lightly spritz the area you would like to print. Don't oversaturate the area as it can bleed through to the back of the shirt which you don't want to happen.
So, you thought you couldn't print dark garments on your Brother GT-541? Well, Direct2Shirt is here to tell you that is just not the case. STEP 3: Print your desing. Again keep in mind the design - make sure it keeps in step with the look of the bleached area of the shirt. STEP 4: Cure the shirt like you normally would do with a standard printed shirt on the GT-541. Make sure that do it for at least 35 seconds at 356 Degrees Farenheight. And you are done!
Now that we've shown you the basics you are on your way to making some really cool looking "grunge" shirts on your Brother GT-541! |
